Musk in talks with Softbank to take Tesla private

LONDON: The chief executive of Tesla, Elon Musk has met with the CEO of Softbank Mayayoshi Son last year to discuss taking Tesla private, according to a report published in Bloomberg.

The meet is reported to have taken place in April 2017.

The report came only days after Musk said he was thinking about taking Tesla private.

Musk had also said that he has secured funding.

Softbank has a $100 billion fund with investment in a wide range of sectors across the world, including a $2.5 billion investment made in General Motors Co.
